  • We offer a variety of supports at Moton from special education programs, ELL programs, and tiered interventions to meet students’ needs. In addition, we’ve implemented ROAR time where all students split into smaller groups and participate in activities at their academic level and to enhance their learning.

On Fridays, we also celebrate students who follow the school’s PRIDE expectations and complete their work each.  They participate in “Pawsome Clubs” with children from various grade levels.  Each club highlights a special interest such as Pokemon Club, Gardening Club, Legos Club, and Fitness Club.  There are about 20 clubs to choose from and students look forward to it each week.

  • Safety is one of our top priorities. We have secure campus entry points, regular emergency drills and guardians trained in emergency response. Our visitor management system ensures that all guests are signed in and monitored.

  • Moton Elementary’s school hours are 9:00 a.m. until 3:40 p.m.  The drop off line begins at 8:40 a.m. Students can then go to breakfast or head straight to class.  If you need to pick up your child early on a regular school day for an appointment, early dismissal ends promptly at 3:00 p.m.

  • We welcome new students to our Moton family.  If you are new in the community or have moved into our school zone, please visit our front office to pick up a registration packet and talk to one of our office staff.  Required documentation includes: Student’s birth certificate, proof of residency, current school physical, and immunization records.  We look forward to serving your family.

  • At Moton we are a family and we welcome parent involvement. Each month, our School Advisory Council made up of parents and staff, meets  to discuss student data, how to improve student success, and topics such as dress code.  This year we will be looking for parents to help us with our Santa’s Secret Shop where students can purchase gifts for their families for the holiday.

We also have several family events throughout the year, beginning with Title One Night in October, Winter Wonderland in December, Spring into Math Carnival in March, and End of Year Awards Ceremonies in May.

We look forward to your involvement as we strive to instill leadership qualities and improve student academic success.

  • In Hernando County School District, technology is seamlessly integrated into classrooms to enhance teaching and learning across all grade levels. Students benefit from a one-to-one Microsoft laptop program, giving them daily access to powerful tools like Microsoft 365 and Canva for Education. Teachers use interactive smartboards such as Promethean and Newline to deliver dynamic lessons, while platforms like Canvas LMS and Nearpod support personalized instruction, real-time feedback, and student engagement. Classrooms are also equipped with audio enhancement systems to ensure every student can hear clearly, improving focus and accessibility. These tools foster collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, preparing students for success in a digital world while promoting responsible digital citizenship.

Principal’s Message

Dear Moton Families, A woman with blonde hair smiles, with a fall foliage background.

We are so excited about the 2025 – 2026 school year.  Our school theme this year is “Paws-itively Powerful Moton Leaders.”  We are beginning our first year in the Leader In Me program which teachs our student the seven habits of highly effective people.  As your student learns the seven habits and begins to incorporate them into their lives, it is our hope that your student will become more confident, more sure of their gifts and talents, and more compassionate.  The added benefit is greater academic success as they make goals and achieve them.

Lastly, on behalf of our teachers and staff, thank you for entrusting your children to us!  It is our priviledge and pleasure to teach and work with your children each day!!

With Leopard Pride,

Ms. Patty Martin
